Hydrogen Energy

Hydrogen is the most abundant element in the universe, and hydrogen energy, being safe, environmental friendly, clean and efficient, is known as the ultimate energy source for human beings.

Hydrogen is at the head of the periodic table of elements, with the atomic number as 1. It is gaseous at normal temperature and pressure and turn into liquid at ultra-low temperature and high pressure. As an ideal new composite energy source, it has the following characteristics:

Lightest in weight: at a standard state, its density is 0.0899 g/l. When the temperature turns to -252.7 °C, it becomes liquid hydrogen. If the pressure is increased to several hundred barometric pressures, liquid hydrogen can be changed to metallic hydrogen.

Best thermal conductivity: its thermal conductivity is 10 times higher than that of most gases.

Common element: It is estimated that hydrogen constitutes 75% of mass of the universe. In addition to hydrogen in air, hydrogen is mainly stored in water - the most extensive substance on the earth - in a form of compounds. It is estimated that if all hydrogen in seawater are extracted, they can produce heat 9,000 times more than that released by all fossil fuels on the earth.

Recycle:Emissions from hydrogen vehicles is water and can  be recycled through water electrolyte method..

Ideal calorific value: the calorific value of hydrogen ranks second after nuclear fuel among all fossil fuels, chemical fuels and biofuels, and is three times than that of gasoline, which is 142,351 kJ/kg.

Good combustion performance: hydrogen can be quickly ignited. It has a wide range of flammability when mixed with air, high ignition point and fast burning speed.

In view of the characteristics above, hydrogen has been regarded as the most promising clean energy in the 21st century. Human beings showed interest in the application of hydrogen 200 years ago. Since 1970s, many countries and regions in the world have been widely carrying out researches on hydrogen.

Application of Hydrogen Vehicles

Hydrogen fuel cell technology has always been regarded as the ultimate solution of using hydrogen to solve energy crisis in the future. Hydrogen fuel is undoubtedly the best choice for vehicles.

Europe, America, Japan and South Korea have been competing to develop hydrogen. Toyota, Honda, Hyundai, GM and BMW have successively launched large-scale production models, unveiling the curtain of industrialization of hydrogen vehicles. In China, many automobile enterprises have begun to step into the field of hydrogen. Wei Jianjun, chairman of Great Wall Motor, made it clear that hydrogen would play a vital role in the energy and transportation sectors of China and even the world in the future.

With respect to the national strategy, the National Development and Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration issued the Energy Technology Revolution and Innovation Action Plan (2016-2030), making the development and utilization of hydrogen technology a part of the national energy strategy. Hydrogen vehicles become an important development direction of the new energy vehicle industry.

Hubei province took the initiative to undertake the national strategy and mission. Wuhan has included hydrogen industry into its “13th Five-Year Plan” of Wuhan. And the “13th Five-Year Plan” of the East Lake High-tech Zone clearly proposes to build a whole industry chain of new energy vehicle mainly with hydrogen vehicles.

Mission of Tiger
